In 1971, Gill Campbell joined an exploratory expedition that spent four months establishing an overland route from London to Singapore. After two years teaching in New Zealand, she backpacked across the Pacific, South America and the Caribbean – at a time when guidebooks were almost non-existent. Gill has never stopped exploring the world, having visited over 140 countries. As a keen walker, she has walked all the UK's National Trails. Alistair Campbell's early travels were often business related, spending months (sometimes years) working in European and Asian cities. Whenever not at work, he was walking, talking, eating and drinking with local people: the differences between countries, between peoples, has constantly fascinated him. From their base in Exmoor National Park, the couple continue to travel, both in the UK and across the world. With over 150 countries visited, they are always looking for that new place to explore; that new person who has stories to tell. They have written Bradt’s Greenland guidebook, co-authored Bradt’s North & Mid Devon (Slow Travel) and South Devon & Dartmoor (Slow Travel) guides, and updated Bradt’s Kyrgyzstan guide. They blog at travelblog.org/Bloggers/Postcards.
