Donald Greig has worked or written for most of the major UK and international travel publishing companies in the UK and Australia and was for seven years managing director of Bradt Travel Guides before returning to his native Scotland. He continues to work with publishers and also to write travel and walking guides and articles for magazines, as well as running Summerlea House B&B (www.moffatbedandbreakfast.co.uk) from his home in the conservation area of Moffat. Prior to its opening in 2019 he served as a trustee with Moat Brae in Dumfries, helping to create Scotland’s National Centre for Children’s Literature and Storytelling. He is also a non-executive director with Edinburgh-based specialist children’s publisher Barrington Stoke, helping dyslexic and reluctant readers to discover the joys of reading. His interests range from walking and the outdoors to history and local culture, and he likes nothing better than discovering places, people and wildlife in the UK and further afield to write about.
