David is a freelance travel writer whose work has appeared regularly in leading UK publications such as The Independent and Wanderlust and Food & Travel, international publications such as Marie Claire and Condé Nast Traveller, and many travel websites. He has updated guide books to Amsterdam and Cuba, and has also written for music and 'foodie' magazines, and has appeared on both BBC and CBC radio. David has travelled extensively since the mid 1970s as a backpacker, on business, and at the luxury end of the market. He hitch-hiked from London to Kathmandu, travelled by train from Hendon to Hong Kong, and flew in everything from hot-air balloons to Concorde. Before starting to write, he held senior positions in the travel industry in the UK for over 15 years, specialising in long-haul travel and 'round-the-world' air fares. David now lives in Nova Scotia, Canada, when not continent-hopping.
