About the Author

Daisy was born and raised in Ecuador. She attended university in Canada, where she met Robert and they planned a year of travels together. South America soon captured both their imaginations and the ‘year’ proved to be elastic, stretching from 1983 to the present. Along the way they became correspondents for the Footprint South American Handbook, and later authors and cartographers of handbooks about Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia. Trekking is another of their passions, and they have written trekking guides to Ecuador and Peru. Robert and Daisy live in Ecuador and have yet to tire of trekking, travelling or writing. South America continues to inspire them.
