Join us for the second in our Travel Club Talks series with Ben Thompson, author of Tanked Up: A Diver’s Story, who will discuss the importance of serendipity in travel and reflects that all his major life decisions happened while he was making other plans.
Ben Thompson joins us from St Lucia, where he currently runs a sailing school with his partner, Vic. Ben has worked as a diving instructor around the world, teaching hundreds of people from all walks of life.
His new book, Tanked Up, describes how leaps of faith have taken him from an unremarkable childhood in Yorkshire to searching for pristine reefs along the uncharted Mozambican coast, via Costa Brava, the Philippines and the far reaches of the Indonesian archipelago.

How it works
This is an online event. You’ll need a suitable device and internet connection, but no technical knowledge beyond that. Full instructions will be provided when you sign up. You’ll be able to access the talk via the Zoom app or using any browser, and you’ll be able to ask questions using the Chat function.
