Janice Booth's working life has included professional stage management, archaeology, selling haberdashery in Harrods, compiling logic-puzzle magazines and travelling widely. She has driven land-rovers in Timbuktu, walked with water-buffalo in Tamil Nadu, waded in the breakers of Namibia's Skeleton Coast, and initiated and co-written the Bradt guide to Rwanda, as well as editing many other Bradt guides to various far-flung places. Back at home, now living in Devon within sound of the sea, she has co-written (with Hilary Bradt) Slow South Devon & Dartmoor and Slow East Devon & the Jurassic Coast, and helps to judge Bradt's annual travel-writing competition.
