To celebrate the release of our new Faroe Islands guide, we offered you the chance to win a trip to this remote but enchanting archipelago in our ‘Island Life’ photo competition. We received a remarkable response with over 400 entries, snapping everywhere from Ireland and Iceland to more remote destinations like Svalbard and East Timor. The quality of photos was extremely high, so thanks to everyone for sharing their beautiful shots with us!
After some thoughtful consideration, we whittled the entries down to a shortlist of our favourite 50. Unfortunately there could only be one winner – an extremely difficult decision given the calibre of entries. But after afew rounds of voting and endless discussion, we can announce the winner…
Winning entry: Saksun, Faroe Islands, by Hendrick Bruckner
We judged all images on two criteria (visual impact and adherence to the theme), and we thought Hendrick’s shot of the remote village of Saksun on the Faroe Islands really fitted the bill. Congratulations!
