Xlendi - A view from our expert author

Spot colourful fish in these clear Mediterranean waters or simply relax on the quaint pebble beach.

Snorkelling Xlendi Malta by Paolo Meitre Liberatini, Viewing Malta

It is possible to spot a myriad of fish when snorkelling off the coast of Xlendi. The bay is wonderful for swimming and popular for diving, too. There is a very small sand and pebble beach, offering a gently sloping entry into the water that is fine for all ages. There is also a long stretch of rocks down the western side of the bay where sunbathers lounge and from which you can swim straight into deep water. Buoys mark the swimming areas. Stay inside them and you do not run the risk of being run over by a boat. Xlendi is home to several of the island’s dive companies including two of the most established – Moby Dives and St Andrew’s Divers Cove. The Xlendi Cruises kiosk organises all sorts of scheduled and tailor-made boat trips and rents out pedaloes and simple canoes.
