Malta - Giving something back

Giving something back

Malta is a moderately well-off European country, so not a place where you can help by stuffing your rucksack with pencils or hard-to-get foods. What you can do, though, is support its efforts to care for its remarkable historic heritage and its environment.

Join or donate to one of the NGOs active in the renovation and care of historic properties, and in opening them to the public. These organisations also act as lobby groups with government for the protection of places of historic importance. If you are going to be in Malta for a long time, offer to help at one of their sites. There are many foreigners, mainly Brits, already volunteering with these organisations.
