About this author

David Orkin is a freelance travel writer whose work has appeared regularly in leading UK publications such as The Independent, Wanderlust and Condé Nast Traveller. He began writing about travel in 2000 after working in the travel industry for over 15 years, including eight years co-running his own successful company. He has travelled extensively since the mid 1970s and first visited Nova Scotia in 2004. After that first visit, he returned several times, exploring every corner of the province and (when not globetrotting) now spends the majority of the year in Nova Scotia.
