Our perfect break in Cirencester

Creating guidebooks is an all-consuming job, so each year the staff at Bradt HQ recharge their batteries by going on a company outing. Caroline Mills, author of our Slow Travel guide to the Cotswolds, had long urged us to make a visit to her neck of the words. And that’s what we did! This newsletter tells the story of Bradt’s trip to the beautiful town of Cirencester. We learned about its Roman history on a tour with Cherry Hubbard and at the Corinium Museum, and explored the picture-postcard villages around nearby Minchinhampton. We stayed in the newly opened Barrel Store, and enjoyed top-class food at The Fleece and King’s Head Hotel. Think of this as your template for a perfect weekend break in the Cotswolds.
