About this author

Brought up close to Stratford-upon-Avon in Warwickshire, Caroline began a love affair with William Shakespeare at an early age and her dream was to become a stage manager for the Royal Shakespeare Company. Realising while studying at RADA that Saturday nights would never be the same again, she changed her mind and went to Oxford to gain an Honours degree in English and Music before committing to publishing. 2016 sees Caroline celebrating a quarter of a century in publishing. She has worked as a freelance travel writer/author for over ten years contributing to various national magazines, newspapers and websites and has a passion for camping, food and gardens. She is regarded as one of the UK’s experts on touring and camping in all its forms, having written more than 1,000 articles and two travel guides on the subject including The Camping Pocket Bible and the campsite guide, Cool Caravanning. She was a judge on The Great British Park Off 2016 to discover Britain’s best campsite. Caroline also has a vast, in-depth knowledge of the Cotswolds, the area in which she grew up and has lived for over 45 years. It is this expertise that led her to write The Cotswolds in Bradt’s Slow Travel series.
