[Updated 21/09/2016] p.51 Some visitors to Senegal have reported a scarcity of ATMs compared with what they are used to and that some of those that they did find were out of order. It is often necessary to pay with cash in hotels and restaurants. US Dollars are not widely accepted in Senegal so American visitors should plan ahead before arriving in the country.

I am writing to tell you about a new place that has become my favorite during my trip around Senegal. Campement Le Lamantin in La Pointe Saint Georges, on the left bank of the river Casamance in Senegal. La Pointe is a small fishing village and probably the only place in West Africa where it is possible to see manatees.
