p. 29 Sadly, Cape Breton Island singing phenomenon Rita MacNeil passed away on 16 April 2013, aged 68 (for more information on MacNeil, see also pages 32 and 338 of the guide).

p. 57 Trius Tours no longer operates on the Halifax – Chester – Mahone Bay – Lunenburg – Bridgewater run. At present, there is no bus service along the South Shore.

p. 131 Trius Tours is no longer operating the Halifax to Bridgetown route (so there is now no South Shore bus service).

p. 193 There’s a new restaurant, inspired by previous local favourite Chez Christophe, in Saulnierville (between Meteghan and Church Point). La Cuisine Robicheau (9651 Highway 1, Saulnierville; tel: 902 769 2121; www.facebook.com/LaCuisineRobicheau; $$) has a limited menu of simple, well cooked seafood and Acadian specialities. Sea views, regular live music sessions and reasonable prices.

Bridgetown

p. 222 Bridgetown’s Cool Water Cafe is now The Eggplant Cafe (open: 07.30–15.30 Mon–Fri year round; $). Bright, friendly, inventive menu changes daily. Healthy food, well cooked – plus good coffee and tempting baked goods. A welcome change. 

Wolfville

p. 232 Tempest restaurant is now called Front & Central (it’s on the corner of Front St and Central St). Same phone numbers, new website http://www.frontandcentral.com/. I haven't eaten there since the change.

Chapter 6: Minas Basin and Cobequid Bay

Parrsboro

p. 261 The Bare Bones Bistro & Pizzeria in Parrsboro has closed down.
