At the launch party for our new collection of travel tales, The Irresponsible Traveller, held last week in the Royal Geographical Society's Ondatjee Theatre, three of the book's contributors recounted their own scrapes and narrow escapes.
First up was Alex Robinson, who told a terrifying tale of being held-up at gunpoint while travelling through Brazil's bandit country.
Second was Claire Morsman, who was shorlisted in our 2012 Travel-writing competition. Claire reveals the phyiscal and mental exhaustion caused by driving through the Australian Outback.
Lastly, Mike Unwin told an amusing, and highly irresponsible, tale of smuggling money out of Zimbabwe on a train.
