Pantanal Wildlife by James Lowen

The Pantanal is to the Americas what the Serengeti is to Africa. The aquatic heart of South America – stretching from Brazil to Bolivia and Paraguay – showcases some of the most breathtaking gatherings of mammals, birds and reptiles that you could ever hope to see. The numbers in the world's largest wetland can challenge credulity, with the smallest of lakes often so crowded with fur, feather and scale that you'll be pushed to spot an uninhabited metre of water. If you enjoy watching wildlife, the Pantanal is paradise. Author James Lowen picks his Top Five wildlife experiences... (read more)

Their mission is to work with the community to make the conservation of the forest more attractive than its destruction. For further details visit www.iracambi.com.

100 Bizarre Animals

100 Bizarre Animals

Some animals just look weird. Take the mandrill, whose outrageous face is coloured to mimic its genitals. Some are plain ingenious, such as the cartwheeling spider, which turns itself into a wheel to roll down sand dunes when it needs to make a sharp exit. With glorious (and sometimes grotesque) full-colour photography throughout, 100 Bizarre Animals celebrates the antics and appearance of the world's wackiest creatures.
