Tiny but perfectly-formed Dominica is one of the most naturally dramatic islands of the Lesser Antilles. This beautiful island with its verdant mountains, lush valleys and dense tropical rainforests is still off the mass-tourism trail. However, cruise ships, hikers, scuba divers and nature-lovers are starting to discover this gorgeous 'Nature Island of the Caribbean'. This second edition offers practical information on the growing health and wellness holidays, weddings and yachting parties as well as extended coverage of the rich cultural heritage. There is a new chapter on the highly popular Waitukubuli National Trail. The author is resident in the country so has detailed insider knowledge.

Yesterday I received my copy of Dominica "part deux" straight from the UK, there was no way I was waiting for it to hit the shelves in Canada. To mark the occasion I slept in my back yard in a hennessy hammock that I purchased for the Wai'tukubuli trail and read my new favorite book by flash light.

'I want to express my sincere appreciation for the guide you wrote on Dominica. My husband and I travel every few years and I always purchase a guide. Your guide is the first one that ever kept my attention; I read it from start to finish in preparation of our trip to Dominica. The guide will travel with us so we can find the hidden treasures you described so eloquently. My husband was concerned that 9 days in Dominica would be too many;I'm thinking we may just touch the surface!'

'This is one of those rare books written by someone who knows Dominica personally. The author has broken down the island into regions, making it much easier to find out what's available nearby. Many of the trails and waterfalls are 'off the beaten path.' As Dominica is an unspoiled island not all of them are easy to access. He gives detailed directions to the sites, rates them on difficulty, and says whether a guide is really needed, and why. He also includes the usual Where to Stay and Where to Eat.This book is so informative that it is even featured on some of Dominica's official websites. If you only buy one book about Dominica, I recommend that you make it this one.'
