'Perhaps the greatest attraction of all, considering the long years of isolation, is the welcome the visitor can expect to receive,' writes Serbia author Laurence Mitchell. With this guide to one of southeast Europe's most exciting destinations Laurence Mitchell introduces travellers not only to rural monasteries and tranquil national parks but also to hip nightclubs and swinging summer festivals. This fully revised third edition provides fresh information to business visitors, adventure travellers and those with an interest in art, history or wildlife. As a prime destination for winter sports, mountain resorts and a range of health spas in spectacular settings are covered. Also included is information on the newly independent state of Kosovo. New to tourism, Serbia is determined to show the world all its attributes: delicious food, beautiful countryside, low prices, safe travel and excellent city nightlife. The scars of war have faded and visitors can certainly expect a warm welcome. Raise a glass of belo vino and toast Serbia's reawakening.

I have read the first edition of Bradt Guide of Serbia, just after it was published. I loved it from the first page. It has such a positive, but at the same time objective attitude to Serbia. Not only it is interesting to read but very useful. There is no better GUIDE BOOK on SERBIA that was published anywhere in the world. I am ever so grateful to Laurence Mitchell and Bradt for writing and publishing the SERBIA BRADT GUIDE.

A truly excellent book about an overlooked holiday destination. Compassionately written with incredible detail, superb historic references with sincere and honest accounts of attractions. The reiterated 'sadly neglected' reference to many museum/landmark is unfortunately true, hopefully with greater tourism the great landmarks of Serbia will be restored for future generations. Lacking in the usual stereotyped view of Serbia it is a welcomed alternative making it an essential travel book. Many thanks.
